Being A Mother.

Motherhood is one of the greatest blessings we as women are blessed to enjoy. This is why it's important for us to understand how God wants that to look in our individual lives. I've learnt from my own life experiences that being a mom surpasses physically giving birth to a child. Every woman was created to nurture and to care that's the way God made us and it is GOOD. It's not a mistake or a chore, what we have is needed and necessary in the holistic development of a child.
I've always loved children, they are such a joy and delight to my heart. Wherever children are I'm never too far behind. What I didn't expect was the way God wanted motherhood to be expressed in my life. I've raised and had the hand in raising MANY children for that I give God thanks. These experiences have equipped and moulded me into the woman and mother I am today. I love learning and growing with the little ones. What I also came to understand was God's intentionality as it relates to my experiences. So it's no surprise to anyone that He has strategically positioned me to serve the youth in my nation and by extension globally. This however didn't come without trial and error and a stern talk from God.
A few years ago during my prayer time, God said to me "You tell everyone you're called to the youth but what are you doing about it?" Admittedly I was doing NOTHING. All talk and no action essentially. However, God wanted me to realize my call as a mother would require action on my part. I fell on my face sobbing and in repentance, He didn't have to mention it I knew me being out of position was grieving His Spirit. I asked Him to help me and show me what He required of me. Since that day my life shifted drastically. He shared His burdens with me for His children, I prayed, wailed, travailed and wept until I became the Mother He was pleased with. I took my rightful place as a Mother in Zion and the assignments came one after the other, from camps, to schools, mentorship, counselling, traveling and speaking engagements.
My journey of becoming has been a revolutionary one, I've been blessed with many opportunities to work with and be surrounded by those who carry the same burden for God's children as I do. My heart is at peace and I'm filled with fulfillment as I think daily, for this reason I was BORN. I'm so glad I answered the call when God spoke that day on my bedroom floor. Inspite of the challenges that arise, I love being a mommy, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Motherhood has taught me a few things so far:
Praying for my children is essential, when I don't understand God does, always take them before Him, seek Him for wisdom and direction.
Every child is different and they will require different things from me in each season.
Every child wants to feel SEEN, HEARD and CARED for.
Having community is important, it truly takes a village to raise a child.
Having a support system that understands is pivotal.
My name is Shannon M. Fraser and I've been called by God as a Mother in Zion to nurture, cover in prayer, care for, guide and release the next generation. This is a clarion call for all mothers to arise, our children need you. If you believe God is calling you to arise as a mother don't delay. Through prayer and intercession we will give birth to various dimensions of our children. I call you forth in the realms of the spirit and I command you to take your rightful place. I declare and decree you will war, travail, weep and wail for our children, until we see a shift, we won't move until God answers. I pray for the grace to endure and tarry. I pray that every resource will find you. I pray for the strength and courage to keep moving forward in the face of discouragement. I pray that you will always know whose you are and who you are in Jesus name. Amen
Blessings.
