The Wait.

This season of my life has brought forth much. But today I want to share with you what I’ve been learning as I wait. And maybe you’re in the waiting room like me, let me take this time to remind you, we are in good company, Abraham waited, Noah waited, Hannah waited, Esther waited, David waited. And as such, we can glean from those who have trusted God before us and be encouraged.

I was having a conversation and the Lord brought forth such clarity I couldn’t keep it to myself. This person and I were sharing the various things that have happened as we continue to wait on the Lord. And I said we talk about what our spouses are like and want to point fingers and telling God to change them.

But the question is….are you creating an internal environment for them to thrive?

Now, for context both of us are currently waiting on our spouses. Imagine the shock and silence that paralyzed the very air around us. As we allowed ourselves to digest what I just said.

When we were able to process and continue the conversation we shared more. Often times we want to point fingers, when the entire process was God trying to show us that WE need to work on ourselves. There are things He wants to develop in us and others He wants to get rid of.

The highlight of the conversation was to cherish every season you’re in. Every responsibility you have, it’s something you GET to do. Therefore, there should be gratitude for that. If we look closely enough we can always find something to thank God for. As God shifted our perspective, it was like He gave us new glasses. He reminded us of the times of His faithfulness to encourage our hearts. The entire conversation was so wholesome and we give God all the glory. If you are in the waiting room like us, whatever you are waiting on God for, be encouraged.

Here’s my encouragement to you, I heard somewhere that while you wait, you should find someone to serve or a cause to give to. It allows you to shift your focus and it helps you to feel purposeful. Serving builds character and it helps you to see what really matters. Ask God to show you who you can serve or a cause you can give to. The season of waiting is no longer something you have to endure, it becomes a place of beauty, joy and hope. With memories and character development. What seasons of waiting do is develop our PATIENCE. James reminds us in James 1:2-4

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” The character that is developed today, will be needed in seasons to come, the God we serve is INTENTIONAL.
